This is a terrific idea. I hope this forces me back into the groove of habitually seeking out new music, my focus the last year or so has dwindled some.
As a few of you know, I've made no secret of my unabashed love for The Field. For my money he (Axl Willner) is about the best in the minimal electronic game these days. From Here We Go Sublime was the most impressive album of 2007 in any genre and his recent release Yesterday & Today was a pretty spot-on follow up. The strategy is very "less is more," and although you could throw it in with the ambient genre, very few others can hold the energy so high for as long as he does--and he does it while abandoning traditional methods of crescendo and beat-dropping. His remix of The Korgis' "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" is a bit like watching a swan do a triple backflip on a flaming motorcycle in slow motion. Link here:

I caught him on tour with The Juan Maclean (also excellent) recently and it was one of the more memorable shows I've ever seen. He also recently remixed one of Gui Boratto's better tracks, "Hera." I'll defer to the other Hype for the links to that track and one of the ones off his new album:
